HYATT HOUSE

140 SOUTH 300 WEST • SALT LAKE CITY •

The Hyatt House in Downtown Salt Lake City experienced a toilet overflow of category three contaminated water in one of their guest rooms. The contaminated water flowed throughout several guestrooms, corridors, hallways on two levels of the hotel and also the administrative offices.

UDK was called out to extract the water and other particulates and clean and sanitize the affected areas. In addition, over 40 pieces of equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers and hydroxyl generators) were set to dry the structure and prevent further damage often caused by moisture intrusion.

The toilet overflow occurred during peak convention season and timing was critical. The UDK team successfully completed the mitigation process within three days allowing the Hyatt to return to normal business operations for this busy downtown hotel.

As can clearly be seen from this mishap, a toilet overflow can become a very serious issue. Contact UDK to handle your disaster cleanup needs.
