A vacation requires preparation, including arranging flights, reserving hotel rooms and rental cars. It also involves preparing your home for your absence. Tony Wilde from Utah Disaster Kleenup said no matter how long you’ll be gone, there are things you can do to make your house safer while you are away.
-Unplug small appliances (toasters, coffee makers, televisions, etc.)
-Turn off Valves for the toilets, sinks, Ice Maker, swamp cooler, dishwasher
-Turn off or turn down your water heater
-Buy timers for lights in the house
-Adjust the thermostat
-Stop mail delivery
