Our Asbestos Removal Process

If you think you have asbestos materials, don’t panic. Usually, the best thing is to leave asbestos material in good condition undisturbed. However, damaged materials may release asbestos fibers, especially if disturbed by unexpected damage, such as in a water or fire loss.

If asbestos-containing material becomes damaged (e.g., unraveling, frayed, breaking apart), immediately isolate the area (keep pets and children away) and avoid disturbing the material. Phase 1.

Hazardous Materials Survey

Asbestos is a very dangerous material when disturbed. UDK performs a thorough survey to determine exactly which materials contain asbestos then develop a detailed plan to safely remove the asbestos, eliminating any health risk to your family or employees.

Phase 2.

Set-up Regulated Work Area

Once a plan has been set in place and agreed upon, UDK technicians will begin setting up a regulated work area to contain the asbestos laden area. This is achieved by sealing air ducts, disabling HVAC systems and sheeting with plastic.

Phase 3.

Material Removal

Equipped with specialized abatement suits, technicians will dampen the area to minimize airborne particles and remove all asbestos-containing materials piece by piece. Each of these items will then be disposed of, strictly following OSHA regulations.

Phase 4.

Hepa Cleaning

Once all asbestos-containing materials have been removed from the area, UDK technicians will continue with asbestos abatement by wetting down and sufficiently cleaning every surface using mops and a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) vacuum.

Phase 5.

Air & Surface Sampling

While the HEPA vacuum does a great job at ridding the area of most asbestos, the microscopic size of asbestos fibers require air sampling equipment to monitor indoor environmental conditions and verify that no airborne asbestos fibers remain.

Phase 6.

Return Safely to Home or Office

Once our asbestos abatement team has concluded their thorough cleaning and air quality testing, they will label and dispose of all materials to a landfill qualified to receive asbestos waste, allowing you and your family to return to a safe home.
